
Jacqueline A. Williams, Ph.D. joins the faculty team of Russ Berrie Institute of Professional Sales at the start of the 2007-2008 academic year. Previous to her appointment as an Associate Professor of Sales at William Paterson University she was on the faculty of North Carolina A&T State University for nine years.
Dr. Williams earned her BS in Commerce and Engineering Sciences from Drexel University. She gained industry experience in manufacturing, marketing, sales and information technology through her work at the McNeil Consumer Products Company as a manufacturing supervisor, Avon Products Company as a district sales manager, and E. I. DuPont De Nemours, Inc. as an information systems manager. She earned a masters degree with a concentration in marketing from the University of Delaware and her doctorate in Business Administration from Florida State University.
At North Carolina A&T State University she served as the Frontline Initiative Faculty Partner, bringing extensive teaching, research, and corporate experience to develop and lead their Professional Sales programs. Leveraging both corporate and academic experience, she has been instrumental in helping students understand the opportunities and benefits of a career in sales and in learning sales skills. In addition, she embraces active learning techniques and practicing with the latest software and system applications. Along with teaching basic sales skills, she championed the development of new courses in Customer Relationship Marketing and Management (CRM&M) as well as Practical Leadership Training (PLT).
She has published in major academic journals and conference proceedings in the marketing and management disciplines including the Journal of Services Marketing, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Industrial Marketing Management. She is recognized for both her teaching and mentorship as one of her students wrote, “Dr. Williams has shown me opportunities, taught me the skills to excel in those opportunities, and given me the moral support to strive for excellence.” In 2005, in recognition of her contributions to teaching and scholarship, she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for Collegiate Schools of Business.
Dr. Williams regularly participates in fundraising activities for a variety of health-related causes. She also volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America and within the Public School system. She is an active participant in faculty governance and sits on numerous departmental, college, and university committees.
